FAQs: Your Guide to the 10 Sustainability Conferences
How many sustainability conferences are there?
There are 10 sustainability conferences running across two days. All sessions take place under the same roof in a festival-style format, making it easy to move between conference rooms and catch the speakers or topics you’re most interested in.
How long does each sustainability conference run for?
Each conference runs for a full day. Five conferences take place on June 3rd and five on June 4th. A comprehensive timetable will become available before the event, giving you the flexibility to plan your own learning schedule.
Where are the sustainability conferences held?
The conferences are available as part of the wider Sustainability Business Live event, held at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. Whether you're local or travelling interstate, this will be the most comprehensive sustainability conference Melbourne has to offer in 2026.Â
Who is hosting the sustainability event?
The event is organised by Stirling Media and supported by a wide range of industry associations, media partners and government departments. The conferences themselves will include presentations from 200+ speakers over the event. A full agenda will be released closer to June 2026, so attendees can map out their ideal sessions.
Can I attend multiple conferences during the event?
Yes - your ticket gives you full access to all 10 sustainability conferences and the exhibition. You’re free to explore different sessions and tailor your experience throughout the two days.
Is catering available?
The event is free to attend, and the venue café offers food and drinks for purchase. Catered lunch is included for VIP Networking ticket holders ($250) and Solution Provider ticket holders ($1,200).
What will I learn at the sustainability conferences?
Attendees gain practical, business-focused insights, including how to:
- Reduce energy bills
- Improve operational efficiency
- Electrify equipment and fleets
- Create new revenue streams from waste and recycling
- Collect and analyse data for climate-related financial disclosures
- Promote sustainability without the risk of greenwashing
The content is designed to help businesses take immediate, measurable action.
Is this the first time the event is being held?
Yes, this is the launch year. The timing aligns strategically with mandatory climate reporting phases - Group 1 entities began reporting in 2025, and Group 2 entities start in July 2026. Hosting the event in June 2026 ensures companies are well prepared. It also lands just five months before COP31.
How many speakers are presenting?
The event features approximately 200 speakers, delivering keynotes, debates and panel discussions. Most speakers are end-users rather than consultants, giving attendees practical insights from businesses already implementing these strategies.
Is this a business event or an academic conference?
This is purely a business-focused sustainability event. The content centres on lowering operational costs, improving efficiency, adopting automation, electrifying assets and identifying new revenue opportunities. The result is stronger commercial performance that naturally drives more sustainable outcomes.
Is the event carbon neutral?
All suppliers - including the venue, stand builders and logistics partners - are working towards more sustainable practices, with the collective goal of making this a carbon-neutral event. Attendees are also encouraged to make low-impact travel choices to help reduce Scope 3 emissions. Event Sustainability Reporting Partner: NetNada
